From Bybrook Farm to Mimosa wines

Mimosa Wines is located in the heart of the Far South Coast NSW, on the scenic coastal drive between Bermagui and Tathra. This part of the coast tempts you with clear waters and national parks, white sandy beaches and untamed coastline - the ideal spot to serve fresh locally sourced food and unique wines.

When Glenn and Gail purchased the 200 acre “Bybrook Farm” in 1978, it was a scrubby block with a few dozen cattle and a lot of thistles. After 20 years of battling to make the farm a success, they decided to take the property in a different direction, and Mimosa Wines was born.

The first vines were planted in the late 1990’s and over the next five years, a total of seven acres were planted. The cellar door opened in 2004, with the restaurant following in 2008. With the help of one of Australia’s best-known architects Daryl Jackson, the building reflects the balance of the modern food it serves, and the natural backdrop.

Over the past ten years, Mimosa has grown a reputation as a ‘must do’ attraction on the south coast. Locals return again and again to try the ever changing menu, and visitors make sure a long lunch at Mimosa is on their south coast bucket list.
